Description

Grape variety: 100% Pinotage from Coastal Region.

Vineyard

The grapes were harvested from both the older bush vineyards in the dry areas and the trellis vineyards in Paarl. The soils are mainly of decayed granite.

Winemaking

The grapes were hand-picked very early in the morning on predominantly clay loam soil from mid to late February. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks with regular pumping. After malolactic fermentation, the wine spent 15 months in 15% new French and American oak barrels before blending and bottling.

Food pairing

Rich and hearty meat dishes such as lamb stew or venison. Tomato and eggplant pie or grilled red meat. Vegan friendly.
