Vineyard

Made from selected plots of Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards planted on the northwestern slopes of the Helderberg Mountain and the southeastern slope of the Polkadraai Hills. These parcels of outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon grow on a combination of deep, decomposed granite soils with sandstone from the Table Mountain range. The mild maritime influence from the cool False Bay coast and the granite soils are evident in the characteristic minerality and classic graphite profile of this wine.

Boekenhoutskloof was founded in 1776. The name of the farm, located in the furthest corner of the beautiful Franschhoek valley, means "Boekenhout Gorge" - Boekenhout is a native Cape beech that is highly prized for furniture making. In 1993 the farm and estate was purchased and restored and a programme of planting new vineyards was established.
